Austin Jones

I started my career running $100M+ defense programs in regulated industries where being late or over-budget simply wasn't an option. That environment taught me something I've never forgotten: structure isn't bureaucracy — it's the thing that makes everything else move faster.

At PMI, I led the redesign of a global membership model that generated $65M in recurring annual revenue, built PMOs from the ground up, and guided organizations through some of the most complex transformations of their history.

Somewhere along the way, I realized that the businesses who needed this kind of thinking most — small and mid-sized companies — were the ones who couldn't access it. The tools exist. The methods work. They just need to be sized right and in the right hands.

That's why Ironwood Advisory exists. I take what I've learned from the highest-stakes programs in the world and cut it down to what actually matters for a business your size. No bloated frameworks. Advisory Hourly
$125–$150/hr
$125/hr existing clients · $150/hr new engagements
Best for:
Ad-hoc strategy questions, issue triage, quick-turn assessments, spot PM support, or real estate deal reviews.
2-hour minimum per session. Billed monthly in arrears, net 15 terms.
Positioned above the market senior PM rate to reflect advisory value — not delivery labor.
Tier 3
Strategic Retainer
$3.5K–$5K/mo
3-month minimum · billed 1st of month
Best for:
$3,500/mo — 10 hrs: Core advisory, check-ins, priority support.
$4,500/mo — 13 hrs: Fractional PM lead, active project involvement.
$5,000/mo — 15 hrs: Strategic operations partner, executive-level engagement.
Hours don't roll over. Retainer pricing reflects predictable access, not peak-hour billing.
The highest-value structure for both parties — you get a dedicated partner, not a vendor.

Subcontracting & Referrals: Ironwood Advisory is open to subcontracting with consulting firms and referral partners. Floor rate: $110/hr. Preferred: $115–$125/hr depending on engagement complexity. All arrangements governed by written agreement. Direct referrals that convert to clients: referral fee or reciprocal arrangement available by agreement.
